Bali rewards curiosity. You walk through the rice terraces of Ubud, wander the temples of Tanah Lot, explore the markets of Seminyak, and pace along the beach at sunset. By the end of the day your feet carry the story of everything you have seen – and they need looking after. A professional foot massage from Home Service Massage Bali is the single best thing you can do for yourself at the close of a long, active day.
What is Foot Massage?
Our foot massage is a comprehensive 60-minute treatment that works the entire foot from heel to toe, including the soles, instep, toes, ankles, and the lower calf. The technique draws on traditional Balinese practice combined with principles of Western reflexology. The therapist uses thumbs, fingers, knuckles, and gentle fist-rolling movements to release tension held in the plantar fascia, the arch, the ball of the foot, and the Achilles tendon. Unlike reflexology (a separate, more structured protocol), our foot massage prioritises direct muscle relief and can be as firm or as gentle as you prefer. We use a warm, lemongrass-scented oil that also helps with any mild swelling or puffiness.
How It Works
You will be seated comfortably or lying on the massage table with your feet elevated on a cushioned bolster. The therapist begins with a warm-up sequence using long effleurage strokes from the toes to the knee to warm the tissue and improve circulation. They then work systematically through each zone of the foot, paying extra attention to any areas where you report tenderness or tightness. The session closes with a gentle ankle rotation and stretching sequence, followed by a light lower-leg drainage massage that removes any residual swelling from the feet.
Benefits of Foot Massage
Who Is It For?
Anyone who has spent significant time on their feet in Bali will benefit from a foot massage. It is especially popular with hikers who have been walking the trails around Ubud or climbing Mount Batur. Beach-goers find that the combination of sand walking and sun exposure leaves their feet stiff and in need of attention. It is also an excellent treatment for people who suffer from plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, or general foot fatigue from standing jobs. Pregnant travellers in their second trimester who experience foot swelling find gentle foot massage provides significant relief, though we always recommend checking with a doctor first.
Why Choose Home Service?
The beauty of home service foot massage is that you can go directly from the table to your bed without putting shoes back on. There is nothing worse than a wonderful foot treatment followed by squeezing into flip-flops and riding a motorbike home through traffic. We bring everything you need to your villa, hotel, or Airbnb so the relaxation is never interrupted. The cost is also significantly below what you would pay at a day spa or hotel spa in Seminyak or Nusa Dua for the same quality of treatment.
After Your Foot Massage
After a foot massage, keep your feet elevated for at least 20–30 minutes if possible. This extends the anti-swelling effect. Drink water to support lymphatic drainage. Wear comfortable footwear for the rest of the day and avoid tight shoes that could compress the areas that have just been worked on. Many guests find a foot massage is best enjoyed right before bed as the treatment produces a deeply sedating effect that promotes excellent sleep.

Frequently Asked Questions – Foot Massage
What is the difference between a foot massage and reflexology?
A foot massage prioritises direct relief of muscle tension, soreness, and circulation in the feet and lower legs using a variety of massage strokes and oil. Reflexology is a structured protocol based on the theory that specific points on the feet correspond to organs and systems throughout the body. Our foot massage is Rp 170.000 for 60 minutes; reflexology is Rp 250.000 for 60 minutes and uses a more precise, targeted technique. We recommend the foot massage for general fatigue and the reflexology for clients interested in the therapeutic organ-mapping approach.
Can you do a foot massage if I have varicose veins?
We can perform a gentle foot massage avoiding direct pressure on varicose veins. Please inform your therapist before the session begins so they can adapt the technique. For severe or painful varicose veins, we recommend consulting your doctor first.
How long does it take for a therapist to arrive for a foot massage in Bali?
Typically 1–2 hours from the time you book. In Canggu, Seminyak, and Kuta we can often arrange same-day appointments within 45–60 minutes. Send us a WhatsApp message and we will confirm your exact time.
Do I need to prepare anything before the foot massage?
No preparation is needed. Your therapist brings the massage table, oils, and towels. If you would like, a brief warm foot soak before the session can enhance the treatment, but it is entirely optional – just let us know when you book and we can advise.
Can I book a foot massage and a back massage in the same session?
Yes. Many clients book a combination that includes both a back and foot massage. We can customise a package, or you can book our Combination Massage (Rp 400.000 / 60 min) which blends multiple techniques across the full body including the back and feet. Mention your preferences when you message us and we will create a session tailored to you.
